Chinese metaverse company NetDragon Websoft appointed ‘Ms Tang Yu’, an AI-powered virtual humanoid robot, as its new CEO.

In what sounds like straight out of a Sci-Fi movie, a Chinese metaverse company has appointed a robot as its CEO.
NetDragon Websoft is a Chinese company that develops and operates multiplayer online games and also makes mobile applications.
The Chinese gaming company recently announced the appointment of its new CEO ‘Ms Tang Yu’, an AI-powered virtual humanoid robot.

Tang Yu who has been appointed as the CEO of the company’s principal subsidiary, Fujian NetDragon Websoft, has become the world’s first robot to hold an executive position.
As CEO, Tang Yu will be at the forefront of the company’s “organizational and efficiency department”.

Tang Yu will be responsible for overseeing operations at the company valued at nearly $10 billion.
The company, in a press release, said, “Tang Yu will streamline process flow, enhance quality of work tasks, and improve speed of execution.
