Mickael Marabou — “Mwen Love Ou” feat. Davido

“I’m an island girl at heart with Haitian pride like no other,” Brooklyn-born Mickael Marabou has said, and it shows in her music. Blending rap with her Caribbean roots, and a dash of African music, early songs like “Fever” and “MAMMA” vied to become diaspora hits. Now, Mickael is sitting on a song-of-the-summer sleeper. “Mwen Love Ou” is a groovy love ballad that mixes English and Kreyol. Featuring Davido, it’s not her first co-sign, but it is one of the most major.

“It’s about developing a trust so strong that it allows one to be honest about how he or she feels through vulnerability and just love,” Mickael Marabou shares with Audiomack World about the song. “As we all search for the latter, some people can actually say that someone taught them how to love. That’s the vibe of ‘Mwen Love Ou,’ which means, ‘I love you.’ Let’s dance to that.”
